Ms. Lee from LEPS came to our classroom to teach us about where our household garbage goes. We were very surprised to see how full the landfill in Cache Creek is. Kind of gross! Instead of throwing everything out, we should be recycling or reusing our garbage.
The red wiggler worm helps to decompose our organic waste by eating all of the compost. We were surprised to learn that they can live for two years. Everyone had a chance to hold a worm in their hands. Thanks to Sam, I won't be able to eat a Tootsie Roll anymore because he said that's what the worms smelled liked to him!
